FIFTH DAY: Friday 4th April
Team work + Delivery of certificates
Students worked in classrooms A105 and A106, using Canva to finalize presentations and visuals from the week. Certificates of attendance were handed out to all participants in a short and cheerful ceremony. The group also watched and evaluated the video materials created during the project, reflecting on shared experiences.
Free time
After lunch, students had some free time to relax or pack their things. Some explored the city a bit more, while others stayed with their host families. The mood was mixed – cheerful but already a little nostalgic.
Goodbye Party – Prison Island Activity (Games)
The farewell evening took place at Prison Island, an escape game center in Dijon. Students participated in exciting team games, solving puzzles and completing challenges together one last time. The evening was full of laughter, high-fives, and heartfelt goodbyes as the week came to an unforgettable close.
FOURTH DAY: Thursday 3rd April
Team Work
Students participated in hands-on activities in the engineering sciences laboratory. They worked on projects involving solar panels and explored the concept of thermal resistance. Under the guidance of teachers R. Ducharne and R. Artola, the session encouraged experimentation and problem-solving.
While some worked in the lab, others were guided by CIO staff and French teachers in discussions and collaborative tasks. It provided space for cultural and academic exchange.
Afternoon in French school
All French students welcomed their international partners into regular afternoon classes. Guests had the chance to observe and participate in the French education system firsthand. It was a valuable cultural experience that sparked many comparisons and questions.
THIRD DAY: Wednesday 2nd April
Cultural Day – Beaune
All French students and international partners traveled together for a cultural day in Beaune. The trip was organized to explore the local traditions, viticulture, and history. Everyone was excited for a day full of learning and discovery.
Visit to High School "La Viti" with vineyard training
Participants visited the viticulture high school "La Viti," where they learned about grape growing and wine production. The main topic was cultivating vines in times of climate change, an issue that sparked thoughtful discussion. Experts explained how climate challenges affect local vineyards and how new techniques are being used.
Walk through Beaune Downtown
The group explored the charming old town of Beaune, famous for its architecture and wine heritage. Streets were filled with history, small shops, and picturesque spots perfect for photos. The relaxed walk allowed students to experience the atmosphere of this Burgundy gem.
Visit to Hospices de Beaune – Guided tour in English
Students visited the famous Hospices de Beaune in two groups, each led by an English-speaking guide. They discovered the story of this historic hospital and its role in caring for the poor throughout centuries. The stunning architecture and artwork left a strong impression on everyone.
After a full afternoon, the group gathered for the return trip. Tired but inspired, students talked about their favorite parts of the visit. It was a day rich with culture, learning, and friendship.
SECOND DAY: Tuesday 1th April
Students departed in groups to visit the Bio Mass production site – Dijon Péjoces. The visit was organized in three groups to allow for better interaction and understanding. Students also discovered the IUT GMP department, gaining insight into technical higher education.
Presentation on the French school system
The presentation was led by representatives from CIO along with Nasser and Gaëtan. They explained how the French educational system works and highlighted key differences with other countries. Students asked questions and shared their own experiences for comparison.
Sports time – Badminton tournament (2 by 2)
French students took part in a friendly badminton tournament organized in pairs. The event encouraged physical activity and teamwork in a fun, relaxed setting. The gym was filled with energy, cheering, and good sportsmanship.
FIRST DAY: Monday 31th March
Participants from all partner countries gathered in front of the school to kick off the week together. The hosts warmly welcomed everyone and provided the daily schedule and key information. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, setting the tone for the days ahead.
French students guided the guests through classrooms, laboratories, and special-purpose rooms. They explained how their school functions on a daily basis. The tour sparked curiosity and allowed for lots of questions and cultural exchange.
Each school presented their contributions and results from the project so far. Students demonstrated their creativity, teamwork, and dedication. The audience followed the presentations with great interest and responded with applause.
Students explored the historical center of Dijon with an English-speaking guide. They learned interesting facts about local landmarks and the city's rich history. The tour was both informative and fun, with lots of laughter and photo opportunities.
